HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – The Citadel wrestling team fell to Hofstra and Pennsylvania in the Hofstra Duals on Sunday, Nov. 3 in Hempstead, New York.
The Bulldogs (1-2) dropped their first match of the day to host Hofstra 43-6. Senior
Ty Buckiso started the Bulldogs off with a win in the 149-pound weight class with an 11-5 decision over Ryan Burket. Junior
Sawyer Root also earned a 6-1 decision at 197-lbs. over Nezar Haddad to close out points for the Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs then fell to Pennsylvania 35-10, where Buckiso and Root each earned decisions for the Bulldogs. Freshman
Ethan Phillips also won in the 141-lb. weight class with an 11-3 major decision over Penn's Tristin DeVincenzo.
Up next for the Bulldogs is the Reno Tournament of Champions on Sunday, December 17.
