
The Citadel Concludes SoCon Championship

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – The Citadel track and field teams completed the Southern Conference Indoor Championships in Johnson City, Tennessee, on Sunday.
The men's squad finished fifth overall in the championships, and the women's team placed ninth.
Junior Derrick Freeland broke The Citadel's record once again in the 35-pound weight throw with a toss of 61 feet, 11.5 inches to take second place and finish on the SoCon's All-Conference Team. Senior Malik Diggs finished third in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.23 seconds. Diggs earned All-Conference recognition and improved to the No. 2 spot on The Citadel's all-time list.
Seniors Jackson Nosbisch and Mitchell Noel tied for third place in the high jump with a jump of 6-4.75 to both earn All-Conference honors.
Junior Josiah Johnson finished third in the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.82 to earn All-Conference. Johnson broke The Citadel's record in the event on Saturday with a time of 6.78 seconds to carry him into the final. Johnson also finished third in the 200 meters with a time of 22.01 to earn another All-Conference honor.
For the women's team, freshman Jessy Page was honored on the SoCon's All-Freshman Team in the 20-lb. weight throw with a toss of 49-5.75 to earn seventh place overall. Senior Caillian Colquitt set a personal record in the 5,000-meter race with a time of 18:36.90 to take 11th place and earn the No. 3 spot on The Citadel's all-time list.
The 4x400 relay team with Sarah Johnson, Emani Little, Hannah Murray and Ty'Rhonza Harris finished sixth and earned the No. 8 spot of all-time with a time of 4:03.40.
The Bulldogs will take a break before starting their outdoor season in Savannah, Georgia, on March 11.
