Box Score 2 ATLANTA, Ga. – The Citadel tennis team defeated Oglethorpe 8-1 and Emmanuel 7-2 on Sunday.

Against Oglethorpe (1-3), the Bulldogs (8-10) won the doubles competition at positions one and three. Sophomore
Michael Anzalone and freshman Willem von Zyl won 8-5 at No. 1, and senior
Connor Grady and freshman
Noah Nawabi won 8-3 at No. 3.

In the singles competition, Anzalone won 6-3, 6-3 at the number one position, and Nawabi earned a 6-2, 6-3 victory at the No. 2 spot. Von Zyl took a 6-2, 6-0 win at the No. 3 position, sophomore
Roy Hobson won 6-1, 6-1 at the No. 4 spot, freshman
Jack Pyritz took a 6-0, 6-1 victory at the No. 5 position, and sophomore
Trey Davis finished with a score of 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 6 spot.

When facing Emmanuel (3-8), the Bulldogs won the first two of the three doubles sets with an 8-6 victory for Anzalone and Von Zyl at the No. 1 position, and Grady and Nawabi taking an 8-5 win at No. 2.

The Bulldogs continued on to win five singles competitions starting with Anzalone's 6-4, 7-5 victory at the No. 1 position. Nawabi then took a 6-1, 6-2 win at the No. 2 spot, and Von Zyl earned a 7-6, 6-0 win at No. 3. Hobson won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 4, and Davis finished off the wins for the Bulldogs at the No. 6 spot, 6-1, 6-2.
