Box Score 2 CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel tennis team defeated Chattanooga and UT Dallas on Tuesday at the Earle Tennis Center.

The Bulldogs pulled off a close 4-3 win over Chattanooga, their first conference win of the season. Freshman
Noah Nawabi and senior
Connor Grady won in the doubles competition by a score of 6-2 at the No. 3 position.

In the singles competition, sophomore
Michael Anzalone topped the Mocs' Lucas Plesky at the No. 1 position by a score of 0-6, 6-2, and 6-3. Freshman Willie van Zyl won at the No. 3 spot 6-4, 4-6 and 6-1. Nawabi took the No. 4 position by a score of 6-2, 5-7 and 6-3, and sophomore
Trey Davis won at No. 5 6-4, 5-7 and 6-4.

The Bulldogs swept the doubles competition against the Comets. Sophomore
Matthew Henson and van Zyl won at the No. 1 spot by a score of 8-6. Freshman
Isaac Stolar and Anzalone won at the No. 2 position 8-5, and Nawabi and Grady finished off the doubles at the No. 3 spot 8-5.

In the singles competition, Henson won at the No. 1 spot 6-3, 6-4. Nawabi took the No. 3 position 6-4, 6-3, and van Zyl won the No. 4 spot 6-0, 6-0. Sophomore
Roy Hobson won at the No. 5 spot with a score of 3-6, 6-2 and 6-1, and freshman
Jack Pyritz took No. 6 with a score of 6-1, 6-2. The Bulldogs won 8-1.

The Bulldogs will take on DePaul and the College of Charleston on Tuesday, March 21. The match against DePaul is set for 1 p.m. and the match against the Cougars is scheduled for 6 p.m. Results for both matches will be available at CitadelSports.com.
