CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel track and field teams head to Columbia, South Carolina, to compete in the Weems Baskin Invitational on Friday and Saturday.

Last week at the CSU Spring Break Invitational, junior Mady Riegel won first place in the javelin with a throw of 140 feet, 0 inches, marking the second first-place win for Riegel this season.

Sophomore Hannah Murray took fourth place in the long jump with a personal-best leap of 17 feet, 7.5 inches, and senior Caillian Colquitt earned 11th place in the 3,000 meters with a time of 11 minutes, 2.09 seconds.

For the men's team, senior Malik Diggs earned second place in the 110-meter hurdles for the second time this season with a time of 14.35 seconds. Diggs also tied for fifth place in the 400-meter hurdles in 55.45 seconds.

Sophomore Josiah Johnson took fourth place in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.71, and senior Ross Jordan finished fourth in the 3,000 meters with a time of 8:58.00.

In the men's field events, senior Jackson Nobisch earned a second-place finish in the high jump with a leap of 6-2.75, and junior Derrick Freeland placed third in the discus with a throw of 147-5.

The two-day event hosted by the Gamecocks is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. Live stats and full meet results will be available at CitadelSports.com.
