Box Score CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel tennis team fell in its third conference match against Furman on Saturday at the Earle Tennis Center.
The Paladins (12-5, 2-0 SoCon) ousted the Bulldogs (10-22, 1-2) in the doubles competition to take a 1-0 lead.
In the singles action, freshman
Willem van Zyl competed against Furman's Clarke Wilson and fell in a close 6-2, 7-6 match at the No. 3 position. Freshman
Jack Pyritz also dropped a close 6-0, 7-5 match against Alex Steryous at the No. 5 spot. The Paladins swept the remaining singles competitions to win 7-0.
Up next, the Bulldogs will host Davidson and Delaware on Sunday at the Earle Tennis Center. The matches are scheduled for 1 p.m. and 7 p.m., respectively, and results will be available at CitadelSports.com.
