Box Score 2 CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel tennis team fell to Davidson and Delaware on Sunday at the Earle Tennis Center.
The Bulldogs (10-24, 1-2 SoCon) were defeated by the Davidson Wildcats (14-5) by a score of 7-0 in the first match of the day.
In the second match against the Delaware Blue Hens (6-9), doubles duo freshman
Isaac Stolar and senior
Connor Grady picked up the 6-4 win at the No. 3 position.
In the singles competition, sophomore
Michael Anzalone captured a win for the Bulldogs at the No. 1 position by a score of 6-3, 6-3. Freshmen
Noah Nawabi and
Jack Pyritz also won by a score of 6-1, 6-4 at the No. 3 position and 6-3, 6-3 at the No. 6 spot, respectively. The Bulldogs eventually fell 4-3.
Up next, the Bulldogs will travel to conference competitor UNCG in Greensboro, North Carolina, on Tuesday. The match is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. and results will be available at CitadelSports.com.
