CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel track and field teams head to Columbia, South Carolina, to compete in the USC Open on Saturday.

Freshman Jessy Page broke The Citadel's record in the discus last week after taking first place at the Lowcountry Invitational in North Charleston with a heave of 141 feet, 9 inches. The Clermont, Florida, native also had a first-place finish and set a new personal best in the hammer throw with a toss of 161-1 to maintain her No. 3 spot on the program's all-time list.

Page was one of 13 Bulldogs to earn first place in their respective events at the Lowcountry Invitational, including junior Mady Riegel who finished first in the javelin with a heave of 130-2. Riegel is presently ranked No. 1 in the SoCon in the javelin and holds the program's all-time record with a launch of 143-0.

Other first-place winners from last week's meet include junior Bethany Reeves with a time of 5 minutes, 30.65 seconds in the 1,500-meter race and senior Caillian Colquitt with a time of 19:25.50 in the 5,000 meters. Junior Asyria Daniels took first place in the long jump with a leap of 17-8.75 and sophomore Summer Thompson won the high jump with a clearance of 4-11.

The men's team had six Bulldogs earn first-place victories, starting with senior Malik Diggs who took the No. 1 spot in the 100-meter dash and 110-meter hurdles with times of 11.13 and 15.00, respectively. Diggs is currently ranked second in the SoCon in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.35 at the CSU Spring Break Invitational, the second-fastest time in program history.

Freshman Raleigh Webb, sophomore Stephan Kulick and juniors Devin Singleton, Charlie Walker and Derrick Freeland also took first place in their respective events at the Lowcountry Invitational.

Saturday's invitational is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. at Cregger Track. Live stats from the meet will be available on CitadelSports.com, as well as full results at the conclusion of all events.
