CHARLESTON, S.C. –The Citadel volleyball team fell 3-0 to Southern Conference opponent East Tennessee State on Saturday, Sept. 29 in McAlister Field House.
The Bulldogs (6-15, 1-4 SoCon) had a slow start against the ETSU Bucs (6-9, 2-2) and dropped the first set 25-11. The Bulldogs returned stronger in the second set up ultimately fell 25-21, and then again 25-21 in the third set to give up the match 3-0.
Senior
Moriah Smith was the lead attacker and defender for the Bulldogs with eight kills and three blocks. Freshman
Megan Fuhr led the team in assists with 13, and senior
Gracie Barnes lead the team with 14 digs.
The Bulldogs will once again return to McAlister Field House on Tuesday, Oct. 3, to host conference opponent Furman. The Paladins are currently 8-7 overall and 2-0 in the SoCon with victories over Wofford and East Tennessee State.
