  • The Bulldogs return from their bye to host No. 23 ETSU on Oct. 13 at 2 p.m.
  • The contest will be the Bulldogs second home game of the season and the first in 35 days.

  • ETSU is the surprise team of the conference so far this season. The Bucs are currently 3-0 in conference play after bing picked eighth in the preseason polls. They have already surpassed their win total, overall and in SoCon play, from a season ago.
  • The Bucs ground attack is led by freshman Quay Holmes who has rushed for 467 yards and eight touchdowns on 107 carries.
  • ETSU has used two quarterbacks this season with Logan Marchi throwing for 657 yards and three touchdowns, and Austin Herink throwing for 554 yards and two touchdowns.
  • Dylan Weigel leads the team 46 tackles and 10.5 tackles-for-loss.

379: - The Bulldogs have averaged 379 rushing yards in the last two meetings with the Bucs. The Citadel rushed for 331 yards a season ago, after amassing 427 yards in 2016.
99.8 - B-Back Lorenzo Wards leads the Southern Conference in rushing yards per game at 99.8 yards per contest. He has run for 399 yards and has a pair of 100-yard performances.
35 - It has been 35 days since the Bulldogs last played inside Johnson Hagood Stadium. It will only be the second home game of the season after the Sept. 15 game was postponed due to Hurricane Florence.

On This Date
In 2007, Tory Cooper scored from five-yards out to give The Citadel a 54-51 overtime victory over Furman in front of 16,272 fans inside Johnson Hagood Stadium. The Bulldogs used a 17-point fourth quarter to erase a 10-point deficit and tied the game on a Mike Adams 32-yard field goal with just over a minute to play. Cooper's touchdown in OT was his third rushing score of he game.

The Bulldogs are just 11-15 all-time against the Bucs, but have won both meetings since ETSU brought back football in 2015. The Citadel is 7-6 in games played inside Johnson Hagood Stadium.


Coach Thompson Following a Bye
The Bulldogs are 2-1 under head coach Brent Thompson following a bye. This will be the first time in the Thompson era the Bulldogs will play a home game following the bye week. It is also just the second time in the last eight years a home game has followed the bye. The other time happened in 2015.


Ward Carries the Load
B-Back Lorenzo Ward did the heavy lifting against Towson as he carried the ball 35 times for a career-high 180 yards and a touchdown. His touchdown came in the third quarter when he broke free for a 38-yard run. It was his second 100-yard performance this season.


Godek Boots a Pair of Field Goals
For the first time in his career, Jacob Godek connected on two field goals in a game. He was 2-for-2 against Towson as he hit from 30 yards in the first quarter, and from 44 yards in the fourth.
