Citadel Cross Country Finishes Competition at SoCon Championships

CULLOWHEE, N.C. - The Citadel's men's and women's cross country teams finished competition in the Southern Conference Championships on Saturday, Oct. 27 in Cullowhee, N.C.

The men's 8k started at 10:00 a.m., followed by the women's 5,000-meter race at 10:45 a.m.

The men's team finished tenth overall, led by graduate transfer Colin Martin who took 39th place with a time of 27 minutes, 33 seconds. Sophomore Jeremy Shipley was the second Bulldog to cross the finish line in 28:23.78, followed by the duo of Lane Johnson and Adam Hohlbein, respectively.

Sophomore Amber Opp, who has crossed the finish line first for the Bulldog women in every race this year, placed 31st overall with a time of 19:21.70. Sophomore Casey Miller finished 66th with a time of 21:06.59, while Jordan Neeley picked up a spot at number seventy two. The women's squad took home tenth place in the conference.
