CHARLESTON, S.C. – The 24
th-ranked Citadel mixed rifle team travels to 18
th-ranked North Georgia for a match on Saturday, Nov. 10.
Saturday's match in Dahlonega, Georgia, will mark the second time this season the Bulldogs will have faced the Nighthawks, and it will also mark the final match of the fall portion of the 2018-19 campaign for the Bulldogs. The two teams last faced off on Saturday, Oct. 6 with No. 9 NC State taking the match while North Georgia finished second ahead of the Bulldogs.
UNG has finished first in both of third last two matches. The Nighthawks have been led by
Ricky Medina,
Tobin Sanctuary and
Kimberlee Nettles. Two weeks ago, Medina posted the top aggregate score of the season for UNG with an 1170.
The 'Dogs last competed on Saturday, Oct. 27 at Georgia Southern. The Eagles posted an aggregate score of 4556 to take the match over the Bulldogs' mixed rifle team, which finished the day with a 4513, while the women's team posted a 4133.
The Bulldogs were led by
Max Brabston's 1140 aggregate score, finishing third. Brabston was the top Bulldogs finisher in both guns with a 560 in smallbore and a 580 in air.
Allison Auten,
Alexander McAlear and
Izzie Blystone were the next three highest scorers for the mixed rifle team, finishing fifth, sixth and seventh in aggregate scores, respectively. Auten fired off an 1126 (548 smallbore, 578 air rifle). McAlear was just one point ahead of Blystone with an 1124 and an 1123. McAlear ended his day with a 555 in smallbore and a 569 in air, while Blystone shot a 552 in smallbore and rebounded with a 571 in air.
Tommy Simrill rounded out the scoring five for the Bulldogs with a 1073 (522 smallbore, 551 air rifle).
The women's team was led by
Lauren Pringle's 1087, the ninth-best aggregate score of the day. Pringle shot a ninth-best 529 smallbore score and followed that up with a 10
th-place in air rifle with a 558.
Shay Littlejohn finished second on the team with a 1065 (515 smallbore, 550 air).
Tierra Price was third on the team with a 1029 (493 smallbore, 536 air rifle) and
Abby Koger ended up fourth on the squad with a 952 (469 smallbore, 483 air rifle).
