CHARLESTON, S.C. – Wednesday, March 14 is known as Pi Day since the date resembles the famous, seemingly never-ending number's shortened form, 3.14. In honor of this unique day, Citadel Athletics will celebrate Pi Day at Joe Riley Park as the Bulldogs take on Richmond.
First pitch for Wednesday's game will now be at 4 p.m. The start time of the game was moved up two hours due to the expected rapidly dropping temperatures Wednesday evening.
It can't be a coincidence that a baseball field loosely resembles a slice of homemade apple pie, or better yet, a slice of pizza (pie). To celebrate Pi Day, Wednesday's game will be sponsored by Papa John's Pizza and the first 80 fans through the gates of Joe Riley Park will receive a free slice of pizza (pie)!
Normal midweek game promotions will also continue to be in effect, including the Ashley Furniture Best Seats in the Park and the all-new Kickin' Chicken Baseball Bingo.
