CHARLESTON, S.C. – Three cadet-athletes will travel to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to represent The Citadel at the famed Penn Relays April 26-28. The world-renowned event at the University of Pennsylvania's Franklin Field hosts more than 22,000 entrants annually and features some of the top competition from across the globe.
"Getting into individual events at the Penn Relays isn't an easy task," said head coach Jody Huddleston. "We are thrilled that this group was accepted and we think they will each have a chance to finish pretty high."
All three cadet-athletes will be participating in throwing events for the Bulldogs.
Sophomore Jessy Page is set to compete in the college women's discus championship at the Penn Relays, facing a field of 33 athletes. Page holds the number-one spot on The Citadel all-time list with a mark of 43.21m.  The discus throw is slated to begin at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 26.
The Bulldogs will send Pennsylvania native, Mady Riegel to compete in the college women's javelin throw at 4:45 p.m. on Friday, April 27.
