CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel baseball team fell 15-2 in the series finale to Samford at Joe Riley Park on Sunday afternoon.
Samford (19-14, 7-2 SoCon) registered 15 hits, including seven doubles, and two errors on the day. The visiting Bulldogs were led by
Anthony Mulrine's 4-for-4 outing that included three runs batted in and two scored.
The Citadel (12-19, 3-6 SoCon) ended the game with five hits and an error.
Bryce Leasure led the charge with a 2-for-3 outing with one run batted in.
Samford scored six runs in the first, three in the third, one run in the fifth, three in the sixth and capped things off with a two spot in the seventh.
Both of The Citadel's runs came in the bottom of the first. Leasure drove in
Jeffery Brown and
Adam Colon pushed
Cameron Jensen across the dish.
Alex Bialakis (L, 2-4) was the pitcher of record for The Citadel while
Stephen Jones (W, 3-4) earned the win for Samford.

The Bulldogs will next host South Carolina and College of Charleston to Joe Riley Park in back-to-back midweek tilts. The Citadel and the Gamecocks will first square off on Tuesday, April 10 at 7 p.m. The Bulldogs and Cougars will then play Wednesday, April 11 at 6 p.m.
