ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The Citadel women's soccer team closed out a three-game road swing Sunday, dropping a tough, long game, 3-2 at UNC Asheville. The game was slowed by a weather delay that lasted well over an hour near the end of the first half.

- Once action got underway, the homestanding Bulldogs found the first shot of the game, but neither team was able to establish an advantage early.
- UNC Asheville netted the first goal in the 23rd minute.
- With 13 minutes left to play, Duenas scored the game-winner.
- In the final 10 minutes, the road 'Dogs took six shots, but each time the Asheville defense was able to find the answer.
Notables
- The goal by Mikoy was the first of her career, giving her five points so far on the year.
- Roth became the fifth Bulldog of the season to record multiple goals on the year as she netted the second of her season. She now has six points with two assists on the year to match her two goals.
- Kelly Brahmbhatt, Mikoy, Katherine Arroyo, Kate Manzione and Kooba Richard played all 90 minutes.
Next Up
The Citadel will next open up a three-game homestand, beginning next weekend with games against Bob Jones and Hampton. The Bulldogs will first welcome Hampton to WLI Field on Friday, Sept. 7 (4 p.m.) before turning their attention to Hampton on Sunday, Sept. 9 (12 p.m.).
