QUOTABLE FROM COACH KRIESE
"We waited most of the day because of the rain and finally got to play singles against Georgia Southern," said head coach
Chuck Kriese. "I am extremely disappointed because this was a match we could have won, but we faltered at critical threshold moments. They basically out-roughed us at those times, and it was not because we were not good enough or tough enough to win. We basically got reactive instead of proactive for about 10 minutes. We will work to correct this every day at practice and in every match that we play. Bottom line, we have a very good team this year and we can play toe-to-toe with just about anyone; however, just like in any other sport, you must be clutch at threshold moments. That is a skill set that must be earned. This is a great group of guys and they are competitors. I cannot ask for more than that, but we must learn how to execute when the time to win comes."
UP NEXT
The Citadel will next travel to Clemson on Saturday, Jan. 19 for a 10 a.m. doubleheader against the Tigers. The Bulldogs will then head to Greenville, North Carolina to face James Madison and East Carolina on Monday, Jan. 21.
