SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Behind strong efforts by freshman Izzie Blystone and sophomore Max Brabston, the 23^rd-ranked Citadel mixed rifle team defeated No. 24 Georgia Southern and No. 26 Wofford Saturday on the road. The Bulldogs posted an aggregate score of 4542, while the Eagles combined for a 4486 and the Terriers finished with an aggregate score of 4461.

Georgia Southern's Rosemary Kramer took top honors in air rifle (589) and aggregate score (1156) with Wofford's Daniel Wesson leading all shooters in three-position smallbore (569), while finishing second overall with an 1148 aggregate score.

The Citadel mixed rifle team claimed four of the top-five positions in the overall standings, including third by Blystone (1143), fourth by Brabston (1140), sixth for senior Allison Auten (1131) and seventh for junior Alexander McAlear (1128).

McAlear finished third in smallbore with a 564, but Blystone was just behind with a 563, one ahead of Brabston's 562. Auten wrapped up three-position smallbore in eight with a 554 and freshman Emily Perkins ended the first gun with a 521 in 14^th place.

In air rifle, Blystone bounced back to pace the Bulldogs with a third-place 580 and Brabston finished fifth with a 578. Auten was just behind Brabston with a sixth-place 577 and McAlear ended air ninth with a 564. Perkins wrapped up the scoring for the mixed team with a 541, giving her a 1062 aggregate score.

For the women's team, Tierra Price led the way with a 1002, including a 471 in smallbore and a 531 in air rifle. Alisha Rabaca posted a 987 aggregate score (454 smallbore, 533 air rifle) and Chelsea Sitarik wrapped up her day with a 975 (433 smallbore, 542 air rifle). Abby Koger shot just smallbore, posting a 489, while Megan Waters shot air with a 510.

UP NEXT
The Bulldogs will compete in four more matches this season before the Southern Conference Championships, with all four to be held in the Inouye Marksmanship Center. The Citadel hosts Georgia Southern and VMI next Saturday, Jan. 26 to start the homestand.
