CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel mixed and women's rifle teams will host No. 5 Navy and 15
th-ranked NC State this weekend for a pair of matches at the Inouye Marksmanship Center.
The Bulldogs, Midshipmen and Wolfpack will all compete on Saturday, Oct. 26. The day will feature two relays beginning 8 a.m.
On Sunday, Oct. 27, the Bulldogs and Midshipmen will square off in a head-to-head match. There will be just one relay starting at 8:45 a.m.
BULLDOGS RANKED 22ND IN NATION
The Bulldogs' mixed rifle team is ranked 22
nd in the nation in this week's Collegiate Rifle Coaches Association (CRCA) poll released earlier this week. The women's team is ranked 29
th. West Virginia remains the No. 1 team in the nation followed by TCYU, Kentucky, Air Force and Navy. Akron, Ole Miss, Army, Alaska Fairbanks and Memphis round out the top 10.
LAST TIME OUT
The 22
nd-ranked Citadel mixed rifle team finished second behind No. 21 UAB and ahead of 24
th-ranked Georgia Southern Saturday afternoon at the Inouye Marksmanship Center. The Bulldogs posted an aggregate score of 4519, while the Blazers recorded a 4556 and the Eagles finished with a 4438.

Sophia Flores led all shooters with an aggregate score of 1155, while the Bulldogs claimed spots two, three and five. Senior
Alexander McAlear led the way for the 'Dogs with an 1140 with junior
Max Brabston five points behind with an 1135. Freshman
Cameron Bates finished fifth overall and third on the team with an 1129.
SCOUTING NAVY
The fifth-ranked Midshipmen come into the weekend with a 3-2 record, including wins over VMI, No. 13 Memphis and No. 10 Ohio State. Navy most recently fell to No. 13 Akron, 4669-4654 on Oct. 19 before bouncing back with a 4671-4647 win over 10
th-ranked Ohio State on Oct. 20.
Navy has been led by
Mark Amdahl,
Kestrel Kuhne and
Torrance Kang. Amdahl posted the team's top aggregate score of 1175 last week against Ohio State with Kuhne close behind with an 1173. Kuhne also boasts an 1169, while Kang's best two aggregate scores of the season are an 1169 and an 1167. Kuhne boasts the team's top two smallbore scores of 584 and 581, while Kang and Amdahl each boast a 594 to share the top spot in air rifle.
SCOUTING NC STATE
NC State has competed just twice so far this season, going 2-0 against No. 23 VMI and 17
th-ranked North Georgia. The Pack opened their season by defeating VMI 4625-4487 in Lexington, Virginia on Oct. 12, and then downed North Georgia 4640-4565 at home on Oct. 20.
The Wolfpack has been led by
Emily Fisher,
Makenzie Sheffield and
Addy Burrow. Fisher boasts the team's top two aggregate scores of 1168 and 1167, while Sheffield has posted the third- (1163) and fifth-best (1154) aggregate scores of the season. Burrow's best aggregate is an 1160, the fourth-highest aggregate score. Fisher also leads the way in both guns, including posting smallbore scores of 578 and 577 and air rifle marks of 591 and 589.
COMING UP
Following this weekend's action, the Bulldogs have just three more matches left during the fall portion of the 2019-20 campaign. The Citadel will next host 15
th-ranked Jacksonville State and 17
th-ranked North Georgia on Saturday, Nov. 2. The 'Dogs and Gamecocks will then compete head-to-head on Sunday, Nov. 3 in Charleston. The two will face off again on Saturday, Nov. 9 in Jacksonville, Alabama.
