Inside The Numbers
378 - For the third consecutive week, The Citadel set a new single-season high for rushing yards in a game. The Bulldogs rushed for a season-best 378 yards and four touchdowns in the victory over Mercer.
37:15 - The Citadel offense continues to control the football as the Bulldogs held the ball for 37:15 against Mercer. The Bulldogs had the ball for 23:14 in the second half. The Citadel continues to lead the country in time of possession at 37:51 per game.
23 - Quarterback Brandon Rainey set a new single-season record for touchdowns accounted for by a quarterback. The junior now has 23 touchdowns (14 rush/9 pass), passing the old record of 22 set by Jack Passander in 1969.
9 - The Bulldog defense held Mercer to just nine yards rushing in the second half. The Citadel allowed just 61 rushing yards in the game.
8 - A-Back Remus Bulmer has accounted for eight touchdowns on the season. The graduate transfer has six rushing touchdowns and two receiving. He has accounted for five touchdowns over the past three weeks.

On This Date
In 2013, Darien Robinson rushed for three touchdowns to help The Citadel erase a 17-0 deficit and defeat Samford, 28-26, inside Johnson Hagood Stadium. Robinson's third touchdown of the game gave the Bulldogs a 28-20 lead early in the fourth quarter. Samford would score with just over one minute to play, but the attempted two-point conversion failed. The Citadel recovered the onside kick and ran out the clock. As a team, The Citadel rushed for 338 yards and four touchdowns.

The Game
The Citadel opens the month of November on the road as the Bulldogs travel to face ETS on Nov. 2. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m.

All games this season can be heard live on 92.1-FM/102.1-FM/1450-AM in the Charleston. The new voice of the Bulldogs, Luke Mauro, will be joined by Ted Byrne in the booth.

The early forecast is calling for partly sunny skies and temperatures in the mid-50s during the day.


vs. ETSU
Saturday's game marks the 28th meeting between the two schools with the Bucs holding a 16-11 advantage in the all-time series.


Last Year vs. ETSU
The Citadel held ETSU to just 224 yards, but it was a late interception return for a touchdown that helped the Bucs hang on for a 26-23 victory at Johnson Hagood Stadium.


Rainey Establishes New TD Mark
Junior quarterback Brandon Rainey scored two touchdowns against Mercer and has established a new mark for touchdowns accounted for in a season at The Citadel. Rainey has now accounted for 23 touchdowns, breaking the old mark of 22 set by Tony Passander in 1969.

Control the Clock
The Bulldogs continued to control the clock this season as they held the ball for 37:15 in the victory against Mercer. On the season, The Citadel leads the FCS in time of possession at 36:11 per game.


Bulmer x2, Again
For the second-straight home game, Remus Bulmer found the end zone twice. The graduate transfer had two receiving touchdowns against Western Carolina, and two rushing touchdowns against Mercer.


Njoku Finds End Zone
For the first time in his career, Nkem Njoku found the end zone when he scored from two yards out in the third quarter against Mercer. He finished the game with 66 yards on 10 carries.


Second Half Yards
The Citadel defense held Mercer to just nine yards rushing in the second half, and 61 yards total. Overall, the Bulldogs held the Bears to just 148 yards in the second half.

The Bulldogs finally have their open weekend. The Citadel return to the gridiron Nov. 16 at Chattanooga.
