CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel mixed and women's rifle teams will open a six-match homestand on Saturday with a match against Wofford and the Clemson club team at the Inouye Marksmanship Center.

Action will get underway at 8 a.m. The day will be divided up in to two relays.

LAST TIME OUT
For the first time since the 2016-17 season, The Citadel mixed rifle team dropped an away match at rival VMI to open the season on Sept. 21. The VMI coed team posted an aggregate score of 4528 to take first of the three complete teams that competed, while the Bulldogs' mixed team was 23 points behind with a 4505. The VMI women's team finished third with an aggregate score of 4366.

VMI's Hunter Jacob led all shooters with a first-place 1149, while senior Alexander McAlear finished second overall with an 1136. Junior Max Brabston finished third with a combined score of 1133, while freshman Cameron Bates and sophomore Emily Perkins finished fifth and sixth with an 1119 and an 1117, respectively.

SCOUTING WOFFORD
The Wofford mixed rifle team opened the 2019-20 season on Sept. 28 with a match against UAB and Georgia Southern at the Shooting Sports Education Center in Statesboro, Georgia. The Terriers finished third with a 4,449 aggregate score, while UAB had a 4,550 and Georgia Southern a 4,453.

Scott Condo led the Terriers with personal bests in both the smallbore (558) and air rifle (571) to finish fourth overall with an 1,129 aggregate score. Dan Wesson was seventh overall with a score of 1,114. Andrew Visconti (1,106) and Marcus Stallings (1,100) also competed in both smallbore and air rifle. Brandy Barnes posted a 519 in smallbore only, while Meredith Bean recorded a 531 in air rifle only.

COMING UP
The Bulldogs will host UAB and Georgia Southern on Saturday, Oct. 12.
