HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The 'Dogs were aided in set two by five kills from freshman Makaya Middleton, including three in a row early in the set.
  • Errors plagued Chattanooga in the third set and the Bulldogs were quick to take advantage, nailing almost every set Megan Fuhr put up on offense.

  • De Jesus posted 14 kills and 10 digs and Fuhr notched 33 assists and 12 digs throughout the match.

COACHES CORNER
"First off, thank you to the corps, that was the best environment we've played in all year," said head coach Dave Zelenock. "We challenged the team to come out and play with heart tonight. We didn't really make a lot of adjustments from when we played Chatt on Friday, it was just that we needed to put out a little extra. It was great to host our first ever playoff game, but even better to have won it. Our reward is playing #1 seeded Samford, who's ranked amongst the top-50 in the nation. We've got a big opportunity in front of us and we will keep pushing to make the corps, our alumni and ourselves proud to wear the "C"."
NEXT UP
The Citadel travels to the SoCon Tournament site in Spartanburg, S.C. to take on the #1 seed, Samford this Friday, Nov. 22 at 1:30 p.m.
