HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Citadel came out swinging in the first set, keeping the score within two point till midway through.
• Samford answered a commanding kill from Sharlissa De Jesu to mount a six-point run, to take an eight point lead 20-12.
• The 'Dogs ralled back to come within three, but Samford held on for a 25-21 victory.
• The Samford Bulldogs jumped out early in the second set to a, 6-1 lead over The Citadel.
• Samford when on two different four-point runs and a six-point to stretch their lead, ultimately taking the set, 25-12.
• Samford started the third set with a six-point run, to go up 7-1 early.
• The Bulldog offense struggled to put up back-to-back points, dropping the final set, 25-10.

BY THE NUMBERS

• Sharlissa De Jesus led the Bulldogs with eight kills for the match and posted eight digs.
• Megan Fuhr put up at otal 20 assists for the day.
• Samford's offense closed out the match with a .360 hitting percentage.
