Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Bulldogs Close Out Road Swing with Win Over Marist

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Saturday night's Citadel men's basketball game at Marist came down to the final minute as the Bulldogs found themselves down three, 75-72, with 1:24 left in regulation. With the game on the line, a trio of juniors stepped up in the biggest moment to help the Bulldogs end a three-game, seven-day road trip on a high note with a 79-75 win.

With 1:14 left in regulation, Kaiden Rice was fouled while taking a 3-pointer. Rice easily made all three free throws to tie the game, and with 23 seconds left, graduate transfer Eddie Davis, III slammed home a thunderous dunk to give the Bulldogs a two-point, 77-75 lead.

On the ensuing Marist possession, Michael Cubbage went for a layup to tie the game, but Derek Webster, Jr. was there for the biggest block of his career, and fellow junior Alex Reed cleaned up the defensive rebound before drawing the foul. Reed strolled to the other end of the court and deftly hit both free throws to put the game away at 79-75 with four seconds remaining.
