CHARLESTON, S.C. – The No. 23 Citadel mixed rifle team finished second out of five teams in Saturday' NCAA qualifying match held at the Inouye Marksmanship Center with an aggregate score of 4548, while the women's team finished fifth with a 4179.

th-ranked UAB claimed the match with an aggregate score of 4584 with No. 24 Georgia Southern finishing the day third with a 4517. 26
th-ranked Wofford finished fourth with an aggregate score of 4487.
Georgia Southern's
Rosemary Kramer took top individual honors on the day, firing an aggregate score of 1170, including the top air rifle score of 596. UAB's
Michael Dietz finished second with an 1162, including the top smallbore score of 577.
Senior
Allison Auten and freshman
Izzie Blystone led the way for the Bulldogs with Auten finishing fourth with an aggregate score of 1145, just two points ahead of Blystone's 1143. Auten's 1145 is her second-best score of the season, and included her top air rifle mark of the campaign, a 583.
Auten finished seventh in smallbore with a 562, while Blystone finished fourth in the gun with a 567. Auten then rebounded with a third-place showing in air, and Bystone posted a strong ninth-place finish with a 576.
Junior
Alexander McAlear wrapped up his day ninth overall with an 1134, including a 563 in three-position smallbore and a 571 in air rifle. Freshman
Emily Perkins recorded her second-best aggregate score, an 1116 (544 smallbore, 572 air), while sophomore
Max Brabston posted an 1119 (554 smallbore, 565 air).
Freshman
Jack Wittman, who shot as an individual during the match, letted in air rifle with a 560. He ended his day with a 1083 aggregate score.
For the Bulldogs' women's team, freshman
Megan Waters led the charge with a 1064 (520 smallbore, 544 air), while
Tierra Price finished her day with a 1048 aggregate score (518 smallbore, 530 air).
Chelsea Sitarik posted a 1036 aggregate score, including a 487 in smallbore and a 549 in air, and
Abby Koger ended her day with a 1027 (504 smallbore, 523 air). Freshman
Alisha Rabaca wrapped up her competition with a 1014 (488 smallbore, 526 air).
UP NEXT
The Citadel will have over a week off to prepare for the Southern Conference Championships, hosted by Georgia Southern on Saturday, March 2 (smallbore) and Sunday, March 3 (Air rifle). The match will be held at Georgia Southern's Shooting Sports Education Center and will mark the third time the championships have been held since the SoCon brought rifle back to their championship sports ranks.
