Bulldogs Welcome North Alabama to the Lowcountry

GAME NOTES | TICKETS

CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Citadel closes out its season-opening 10-game home stand against North Alabama March 1-3. The series gets underway Friday at 6:30 p.m. and continues at 3 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. on Sunday.

Saturday's game is Read Across America where fans can receive a $5 ticket with a donation of a book. The game is sponsored by the South Carolina Education Lottery.

Tickets for all home games are available on CitadelSports.com/tickets or by calling the box office at 843-953-DOGS. Tickets will also be available at the stadium box office starting one hour before first pitch.

Weekend Weather
The forecast is calling for temperatures around 70 degrees for all three games. Rain is in the forecast for Friday and Sunday, but it should not have any impact on the games.

Series History vs. North Alabama
The Bulldogs and Lions are meeting for the first time on the diamond. UNA is in their first year as a Division I program and are members of the Atlantic Sun Conference.

Double Duty
Outfielders Lane Botkin and Ryan McCarthy will be pulling double duty on Saturday as the duo will play in the football teams annual Spring Game Saturday morning at 11 a.m. before heading over for the baseball game at 3 p.m. The two have been working out with both teams for the past three weeks.

Merritt Earns SoCon Pitching Honor
Jordan Merritt was named the Southern Conference Pitcher of the Week after allowing just one run on six hits and seven strikeouts over 7.0 innings against No. 17 Michigan.

On Deck
The 'Dogs hit the road for the first time this season when they travel to face South Carolina on March 5. First pitch is set for 7 p.m. The Citadel will return to Riley Park March 6 to host Winthrop at 6:30 p.m.
