CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel men's tennis team will open their upcoming homestand a little earlier than originally planned as the Bulldogs will welcome Toledo to the Jack Adams Tennis Center on Thursday, March 7 for a 2:30 p.m. match.
LAST TIME OUT
The Citadel men's tennis team wrapped up a seven-match road trek on Monday with a pair of matches in North Carolina. The Bulldog racqueteers dropped a neutral-site match in Raleigh, 7-0, to 27
th-ranked Pennsylvania before traveling just over an hour to Greensboro where the Bulldogs fell, 4-3, in a Southern Conference match to UNCG.
SCOUTING TOLEDO
Toledo is currently 6-7, including 2-6 in true road matches. The Rockets are in the midst of an eight-match road swing that has already taken then from Youngstown, Ohio to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Chicago, Illinois, to Conway, South Carolina. In the first six matches of the stretch, the Rockets are 3-3, including 3-1 in their last four matches. Toledo features a veteran team that includes seniors
Vince Anzalone,
Juan Carranza,
Omar Espinosa,
Serjen Olmedo,
Reid Teatsworth and
Luka Vitosevic. The Rockets also feature two juniors, two sophomores and a freshman.
UP NEXT
After hosting Toledo on Thursday, the Bulldogs will host Methodist, Lehigh and Richmond for four matches over the weekend. The 'Dogs and Methodist will play a 9 a.m. doubleheader on Saturday, March 9. On Sunday, March 10, The Citadel will host Richmond at 9 a.m. and Lehigh at 2:30 p.m.
