Bulldogs Host Four Matches Saturday, Sunday

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel men's tennis team will play four matches over the next two days.

The Bulldogs will host Methodist for a 10 a.m. doubleheader on Saturday, March 9. The 'Dogs will then welcome Richmond and Lehigh to the Jack Adams Tennis Center on Sunday, March 10. The match versus Richmond is slated for 10 a.m., while the Lehigh match will begin at 3 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
The Citadel men's tennis team opened a 15-match homestand Thursday afternoon with a hard-fought, 6-1 loss at the hands of Toledo at the Earle Tennis Center. The match was a long, grueling affair that featured a two-hour matchup at No. 6 singles between freshman Phillip Quinn and Toledo's Serjen Olmedo. Quinn ultimately won 2-6, 6-2, 6-0 to claim the Bulldogs' lone point on the afternoon.

SCOUTING METHODIST
Methodist is 4-5 on the year, having won two of their last four matches. The Monarchs are led by seniors Jonathan Fintak, KJ Hardie, Wynn Johnson, Max Linder and Jacob Oehser. Methodist also features juniors Kayhahn Alikhani, Joshua Deutsch, Jack Holloway, Reid Rose, Justin Tegen and Daniel Wolf.

SCOUTING RICHMOND
Richmond enters the weekend the weekend with an 8-4 record, including 5-2 on the road. The Spiders won five matches in a row from Feb. 9 – Feb. 23, all on the road, but have dropped the last two contests at home against Elon and Liberty. Richmond's roster includes senior Brice Polender, and juniors Klein Evans, Matt Fernandez and George Lovitt.

SCOUTING LEHIGH
Lehigh is currently 5-2 on the year, but has played all seven matches at home. The Mountain Hawks are currently riding a five-match winning streak, including a 4-3 win over La Salle earlier this week on March 3. A very experience group, Lehigh features seniors Christopher Auteri, Sam Bencheghib, Bryant Born and George Cooper, along with junior Jack Martin-Dyer.

UP NEXT
The Bulldogs will play four matches next weekend, including a 9 a.m. doubleheader with Radford on Saturday, March 16. The Citadel will then welcome Chattanooga to Charleston for a Southern Conference match on Sunday, March 17 followed by a non-conference match against Marist.
