  • Saturday's game will be broadcast on ESPN+ with Kevin Fitzgerald, Dominique Allen and Emily Crevani on the call.
  • The contest is the second game of a home-and-home series between the two schools. The Tigers won last year's meeting in Towson.

  • The opener is the first of four games against teams ranked in the preseason polls.
  • Quarterback Brandon Rainey returns as the starter after leading the Bulldogs to a 3-1 record a season ago. Rainey averaged 132.5 rushing yards per game a season ago.
  • The Bulldogs also return several running backs that helped The Citadel rank ninth nationally in rushing a season ago.
  • The Bulldogs defense came up big in the second half down the stretch as it held its last three FCS opponents to a combined three points in the second half. The stretch allowed The Citadel to erase two double-digit halftime deficits.
