CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel mixed rifle team opens the 2019-20 season this weekend by traveling to Lexington, Virginia for a head-to-head matchup with the Keydets of VMI.
The two military institutions have developed a friendly rivalry in rifle over the years that sees the winning team of their head-to-head matches holding on to the other's range flag during the regular season. The Citadel has maintained control of VMI's range flag for the last two years, winning each of the last four head-to-head meetings.
The 'Dogs will send seniors
Victoria Krone,
Alexander McAlear and
Tierra Price, juniors
Max Brabston and
Brandon Oerman, sophomores
Emily Perkins and
Jack Wittman, and freshman
Cameron Bates to VMI. Oerman and Krone will be shooting just air rifle, while Wittman will be shooting just smallbore.
COMING UP
Upon their return from Lexington, the Bulldogs will begin a stretch of six straight home matches beginning with a head-to-head matchup with Wofford on Saturday, Oct. 10.
