HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Contreras, Nyhart and Marie Le Gallo all got shots off in the first 15 minutes as the Bulldogs looked to push the tempo out of the gate.
  • Fifteen minutes in, Jacksonville's Rachel Henry took the Dolphins' first shot of the contest.
  • Abdallah capitalized on Jacksonville's third shot of the game to give the Dolphins the 1-0 advantage. Abdallah boasts all three of Jacksonville's goals for the year.
  • The Bulldogs managed to get three more shots off in the closing minutes of the opening half, but entered halftime down 1-0.
  • The 'Dogs out-shot the Dolphins 8-4 in the opening 45 minutes, but Maddie Somogyi made three saves to Jacksonville's keeper's one.
  • The second half began with the Bulldogs again pushing for a goal as Yosue managed a shot in the first minute of action, and then took two corners a few minutes later.
  • In the 62nd minute, Contreras found Nyhart several yards outside of the top of the box and passed the ball into her feet. Nyhart wasted little time scoring the equalizer.
  • From there, the Bulldogs out-shot the Dolphins 3-0 to close out the second half.
  • After the first overtime period passed with not much going for either team, the second overtime period saw Hannah Roth take over in hopes of finding the golden goal. Roth took four shots in the period, including two that forced Michelle Jerantowski to make diving, one-handed saves that results in Paige Davis corner kicks.
  • For the game, The Citadel out-shot Jacksonville 22-9, including 8-5 on goal.
