CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel men's and women's cross country teams will race in the Queen City Invite on Friday, Sept. 27.
The women's race will begin at 5 p.m. with the men's race to follow at approximately 5:30 p.m.
The invite will feature The Citadel, Coastal Carolina, College of Charleston, Furman, Gardner-Webb, James Madison, Mercer, Ohio and South Carolina State from the NCAA Division I ranks along with 34 other schools spread out amongst Division II, III and NAIA schools.
LAST TIME OUT
The Citadel men's and women's cross country teams each finished ahead of North Carolina Central and Gardner-Webb as the Bulldogs competed in the adidas XC Challenge hosted by NC State on Sept. 20. The men were led by sophomore
Lane Johnson, who finished 55
th with a time of 20:06., while the women were paced by junior
Amber Opp with a 46
th-place finish in a time of 19:07.9, setting a season-best time in the 5K.
COMING UP
The Citadel will be off from outside competition until Saturday, Oct. 12 when the squads will travel to Orlando, Fla. For the Disney Cross Country Classic.
