Baseball Hosts Hartford in Weekend Series

GAME NOTES | TICKETS

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel returns to Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park on March 6-8 to welcome Hartford for a three-game series. The series opener is set for 6 p.m., with a 3 p.m. start on Saturday and a1 p.m. first pitch on Sunday.

Tickets for all home games are available on CitadelSports.com/tickets or by calling the box office at 843-953-DOGS. Tickets will also be available at the stadium box office starting one hour before first pitch.


SoCon Digital Network
The three-game series against Hartford will be carried on the SoCon Digital Network. Dave Weinstein will have the call for all three games.

The Citadel and Hartford are meeting for the first time on the diamond.


Newcomers to the Schedule
The weekend series will the be third of four-straight weekend series against teams the Bulldogs have not faced prior to this season.


Double-Digit Runs
The Bulldogs have scored double digits in five games this season. It is the most since the 2016 team reached double digits eight times.


Mitchell Earns SoCon Honor
Freshman Noah Mitchell was named the Southern Conference Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 24-March 1. In three games, the infielder went 8-for-12 with a double, triple, two home runs, six RBIs and eight runs scored.


Best 10-Game Start
The Bulldogs are off to their second-best start in program history through 10 games. The 9-1 start equals the start of the 1990 team, and trails only the 10-0 start by the 1978 squad.


Back-to-Back Shutouts
The Citadel posted shutouts in each of the last two games against Saint Peter's. It marked the first time since April 12-13, 2013 against Georgia Southern the Bulldogs posted back-to-back shutouts.


Double Digit Scoring
The Bulldog offense posted double digits in three-straight games from Feb. 25-29. It was the first time this happened since May 17-19, 2014. The Bulldogs defeated UNCG 13-12 and 14-11 in a doubleheader, then went on to defeat Elon, 10-7.


Mitchell's Hot Bat
Freshman Noah Mitchell swung a hot bat last week as he hit .667 (8-for-12) with a double, triple, two home runs and six RBIs in just three games. He had three multi-hit games, including a four-hit game that included two home runs.


Back-to-Back Jacks
Sophomore Ches Goodman and freshman Noah Mitchell hit back-to-back home runs to left center in the middle game against Saint Peter's.


Two Home Run Game
Freshman Noah Mitchell hit two home runs in the middle game against Saint Peter's. He is the first Bulldog since Ches Goodman at UNCG in 2018 with two home runs in a game. For both players, it was their first career home runs.


Reeves Extends Streak
Sophomore Cameron Reeves allowed three earned runs in the first inning of his first start this season. Since then, the right hander has not allowed an earned run in the last 18.0 innings.


On Deck
The Bulldogs begin a busy week with a pair of midweek games on March 10-11. The Citadel will travel to face South Carolina on Tuesday at 7 p.m. before welcoming VCU to Riley Park for a 4 p.m. first pitch on Wednesday.
