Bulldogs Set for Pair of Midweek Contests

GAME NOTES | TICKETS FOR APRIL 21 vs. SOUTH CAROLINA

COLUMBIA, S.C. - The Citadel begins a busy week as the Bulldogs will play a pair of midweek contests. The Bulldogs travel to face South Carolina on Tuesday at 7 p.m. before playing host to VCU on Wednesday at 4 p.m.

Midweek Weather
Temperatures are expected to be around 70 degrees for both games.

Tickets for all home games are available on CitadelSports.com/tickets or by calling the box office at 843-953-DOGS. Tickets will also be available at the stadium box office starting one hour before first pitch.


Bark in the Park
Wednesday's game will be the first Bark in the Park of the 2020 season. Fans are encouraged to bring their four-legged companions to the 4 p.m. game against VCU.


Radio Coverage
Both games this week will be carried on The City (102.1 FM, 92.1 FM, 1450 AM). The voice of the Bulldogs, Luke Mauro, will be on the call.


SEC+
Tuesday's game against South Carolina can be watched on SEC+.


SoCon Digital Network
Wednesday's game against VCU will be carried on the SoCon Digital Network. Luke Mauro will have the cal.


vs. South Carolina
The Citadel and South Carolina have met 185 times prior with the Gamecocks holding a 135-49-1 advantage in the series. SC won both games in the home-and-home last year.


vs. VCU
The Bulldogs and Rams have met five times prior with VCU holding a 4-1 advantage in the series. The teams last met in Charleston in 2013, with the Rams winning 11-6.


Cooper to be Honored
The Citadel pitching coach Blake Cooper will be honored in Columbia on Tuesday as the former Gamecock All-American will throw out the ceremonial first pitch.


Reeves Extends Streak
Sophomore Cameron Reeves allowed three earned runs in the first inning of his first start this season. Since then, the right hander has not allowed an earned run in the last 25.0 innings.


Botkin's 3-Hit Games
Sophomore Lane Botkin put together a pair of three-hit games last week. The outfielder went 3-for-4 in the midweek game against USC Upstate and 3-for-3 in the series finale against Hartford. He hit safely in all four games, going 8-for-13 on the week.


Brown's 4-Hit Day
Jeffery Brown had a big day in the victory over Hartford as the senior went 4-for-5 with a pair of doubles and three RBIs. He followed it up with a 2-for-3 day in the series finale.


On Deck
The Bulldogs welcome Rider to Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park for a three-game series March 13-15. The series opener is set for 6 p.m.
