Inside The Numbers
1,989 - Quarterback Brandon Rainey enters the game just 11 yards shy of eclipsing the 2,000-yard mark in his career. He will become the school's 16th member of the 2,000-yard club. He currently ranks 6th all-time for rushing yards by a quarterback.
45 - Freshman Colby Kintner connected on a45-yard field goal in the first attempt of his collegiate career. He would later add a 41 yarder to become first kicker with multiple 40-plus yard field goals since 2015.
27 - The Bulldogs had 27 rushing attempts by players who entered the season opener without have a carry in their collegiate career. The total equaled half of the 'Dogs rushing attempts in the game.
12 - Senior All-American linebacker Willie Eubanks III posted 12 solo tackles in the season opener. He added three tackles-for-loss and a sack.
1 - For the third time in the last seven years, the Bulldogs will be facing the No. 1 team in the country. The Citadel faced No. 1 Florida State in 2014 and No. 1 Alabama in 2018.

On This Date
In 2009, the Bulldogs went on the road and scored 38 unanswered points to defeat Princeton, 38-7. Terrell Davis scored a pair of touchdowns on the ground, and Bart Blanchard went 16-of-26 for 194 yards and a score in the win. The defense helped to set up a fourth-quarter touchdown as Jonathan Glaspie returned an interception 86 yards.

The Game
The Citadel plays its second-straight game against a FBS opponent when it travels to face No. 1 Clemson. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m.

Radio Coverage
All games this season can be heard live on 92.1-FM/102.1-FM/1450-AM in the Charleston. The new voice of the Bulldogs, Luke Mauro, will be joined by Lee Glaze in the booth.


ACC Network
Saturday's game will be broadcast on the ACC Network. Anish Shroff will be joined in the booth by Tom Luginbill. Eric Wood will be down on the sideline.


Saturday Weather
The early forecast is calling for partly sunny skies and temperatures in the mid-70s during the day.


vs. Clemson
Saturday's game will mark the 39th meeting between the two teams with the Tigers holding a 32-5-1 advantage in the series. CU has won 17-straight games in the series.


Inside the Clemson Series
The Bulldogs and Tigers have met 38 times prior, but 25 of those game happened between 1909-1936. The teams have played four times since 2000.


Clemson Family Ties
Current Citadel special teams coordinator Turner West is the son of former Clemson head coach Tommy West. Tommy served as the head coach of the Tigers from 1993-98. He was also a Tiger assistant from 1982-89.


Facing No. 1
For the third time since 2014, The Citadel will be facing the No. 1 team in the FBS. The Bulldogs traveled to face Florida State in 2014 and Alabama in 2018. The Citadel also faced No. 2 Clemson in 2017.


2,000 Yard Club
The Citadel currently has 15 players in program history that have rushed for over 2,000 yards in their career. Quarterback Brandon Rainey is poised to become the 16th member of the 2000-yard club.

QB Rushing Yards
Quarterback Brandon Rainey currently ranks sixth on the all-time list for rushing yards by a quarterback. Rainey's total does include the 495 yards he gained while playing B-Back as a freshman in 2017.

Kintner Connects From Deep
Freshman kicker Colby Kintner connected on field goals of 46 and 41 yards in his first career attempts. He is the first Bulldog kicker to connect on two 40-plus yard field goals in the same game since Eric Goins hit from 49 and 43 yards against Coastal Carolina on Nov. 28, 2015.


Eubanks Dozen
All-America linebacker Willie Eubanks III started the season with 12 solo tackles against South Florida. The senior added three tackles-for-loss and a sack. The 12 tackles are one shy of his career high of 13 set against Furman in 2018 and Elon in 2019.


Faulkner Hits Double Digits
Junior Sean-Thomas Faulkner tied a career high with 10 tackles against South Florida. He added two tackles-for-loss. The total equals the mark set at ETSU a season ago.


Double-Digit Duo
The Citadel defense boasted a pair of double-digit tacklers against South Florida. Willie Eubanks III led the team with 12 tackles, while Sean-Thomas Faulkner added 10. It marked the first time since 2016 the Bulldogs had a pair of players hit double digits in tackles against a FBS team. In 2016, Myles Pierce recorded 11 tackles and Tevin Floyd added 10 against North Carolina.


Backs Get First Carries
The Bulldogs starting backfield against South Florida entered the game with zero career carries. Sophomore Keefe White led the group with 41 yards on nine carries. He also added two catches for 40. Redshirt freshman Logan Braucht carried 13 times for 35 yards, while fellow freshman Cooper Wallace had five carries for 11 yards.

The Bulldogs play their only home game of the fall as they welcome Eastern Kentucky to Johnson Hagood Stadium on Sept. 26. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
