CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel head volleyball coach
Dave Zelenock announced that the Bulldogs will play four matches during the fall.
"We are fortunate to be one of the few teams in the country able to play," said Zelenock. "On top of that, we are getting to play teams that we normally don't get to play and the team is excited for that chance."
The Bulldogs will open the fall season on Sept. 12 when they travel to Mercer for a non-conference match. First serve is set for 2 p.m.
The Citadel will continue the week with matches at Virginia Tech (Sept. 17) and Clemson (Sept. 18). The match at VT will begin at 4 p.m., while the match against the Tigers is set for 6 p.m. Both matches can be seen on the ACC Network.
The fall season concludes on Sept. 30 when the Bulldogs welcome Mercer to McAlister Field House. First serve is set for 6 p.m. and can be seen live on ESPN3.
"We get to start with Mercer, who we know well, before playing two really improved ACC teams," said Zelenock. "We hope those lessons will pay off and allow us to prepare for the conference season in the spring with the ultimate goal of a championship."
