EDISTO ISLAND, S.C. – The Citadel women's golf team completed the opening round of the Edisto Island Invitational Sunday afternoon at the Plantation course at Edisto.

How it Happened

• Paige Gilstrap led the Bulldogs in the Bulldogs in the opening round by shooting a 78.
• She led the Bulldogs with three birdies on the round. She birdied the part-5 18^th, the par-4 8^th and the par-4 11^th holes.
• Megan Ikeda posted an opening-round 80 that included a pair of birdies.
• She closed out her round with two birdies over the final four holes.
• Sarah Smith carded an opening-round 82 that included a birdie on the par-4 2^nd.
• Lauren Sommerfeld shot her best round as a Bulldog, shooting an opening-round 82. That featured a birdie on the par-5 10^th hole.
