8 - Redshirt freshman defensive back Dominick Poole is tied for the conference lead with eight pass break-ups. He was named to the Jerry Rice Award Watch List last week.
35 - The Bulldogs scored 35 points in the second half to erase a 24-7 halftime deficit against Samford in 2018. Quarterback Brandon Rainey ran for 208 of his 217 yards in the second half and Lorenzo Ward scored four second-half touchdowns.
102 - The Citadel ran a school record 102 plays in the last road game at Samford. The Bulldogs ran the ball 95 times and threw the ball seven times. The 95 rushing attempts were also a school record.
103.6 - Quarterback Jaylan Adams is averaging 103.6 passing yards per game. He is on pace to become just the second player since 2010 to average more than 100 passing yards a game.
462 - In The Citadel's last trip to Birmingham, a four-overtime thriller, both teams combined for 462 yards of offense. The Citadel ran for 266 yards and threw for 196 yards.

The early forecast is calling for temperatures in the upper 50s with mostly sunny skies.


vs. Samford
Saturday's game marks the 15th all-time meeting between the two schools with the series tied 7-7. The teams have met every year since 2008.


Last Trip to Birmingham
The two teams played an instant classic as the 2019 matchup was settled in the fourth overtime with Samford prevailing 61-55. The Citadel ran the ball 95 times and finished with a school record 102 plays on offense.


Mack Blocks Kick
Defensive back Destin Mack blocked a field goal in the second half against Mercer. It was the first blocked kick since Jonathan King blocked a field goal against Wofford in 2016.


Cherry's Career Day
Tyler Cherry had a career day against Mercer as he caught five passes for 82 yard, including his first career touchdown.


Beverly Picks Off Pass
Chris Beverly became the fourth Bulldog with an interception this season when he picked off a pass against Mercer. It was his first interception of the season and the second of his career.


Poole Named to Rice Award Watch List
Redshirt freshman Dominick Poole was named to the Jerry Rice Award Watch List. The award honors the top freshman at the FCS level.
