Saturday's game will kick at 1 p.m. on ESPN+. Dave Weinstein and Jason Kempf will be on the call from Johnson Hagood Stadium.Saturday's weather forecast is calling for temperatures to be in the mid-50s with a chance of rain leading up t the game. The teams are meeting for the 54th time with Chattanooga holding a 32-19-2 advantage in the all-time series. Last season, the Mocs scored with less than a minute to play to hand the Bulldogs a 34-33 defeat. It was the second-straight meeting that was decided by just one point. The Citadel rushed for 338 yards in its spring opener against Mercer. Quarterback Jaylan Adams rushed for 144 yards and Cooper Wallace added 128 yards on the ground. Both players scored a touchdown. The game marked the first time since the 2018 Western Carolina game that the Bulldogs had a pair of 100-yard rushers. Adams also threw his first career touchdown pass to Raleigh Webb. Adams became the first signal caller since Dominique Allen in 2015 to throw for and rush for a touchdown in their first career start. Webb's touchdown reception was the 17th of his career, moving him into sole possession of second place on the school's all-time list for career touchdown receptions. Brian Horn paced the defense with nine tackles and a sack. Carson Hatchett made his collegiate debut and finished tied for the team-high with nine tackles. The Bulldogs scored 28 points in the second half against Mercer. It was the most points in a second half since putting up 35 points in the second half against Samford in 2018. Inside The Numbers 3 - The Citadel defense held Mercer to just three yards in the third quarter. The Bulldogs did not allow a first down and forced a three-and-out on all three possessions in the quarter. 17 - Wide receiver Raleigh Webb caught his 17th career touchdown pass against Mercer. He is now in sole possession of second place on the school's all-time receiving touchdown list. 73 - A-Back Cooper Wallace scored on a 73-yard run in the third quarter. It was the longest touchdown run since Cam Jackson scored from 74 yards out against Newberry in the 2017 season opener. 144 - Quarterback Jaylan Adams finished with a career-high 144 rushing yards. He was one of two backs to go over 100 yards in the game. 209 - Cooper Wallace finished with a career-best 209 all-purpose yards against Mercer. He rushed for 128 yards on just nine carries, caught one pass for five yards and returned four kickoffs for 76 yards. Up Next The Bulldogs hit the road for a game at Western Carolina on March 13.
