CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Citadel play their first home midweek game of the season as it welcomes No. 5 South Carolina to Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. Capacity for Wednesday's game will be limited to 1,500 fans.
INSIDE THE SERIES
The Bulldogs and Gamecocks are meeting for the 187th time on the diamond. SC holds a 136-49-1 advantage in the all-time series. The Gamecocks have won four straight in the series with the Bulldogs last win coming in Columbia on March 20, 2018.

Temperatures are expected to be in the upper-60s during the day and give way to clear skies during the game.

CitadelSports.com/tickets or by calling the box office at 843-953-DOGS. Tickets will also be available at the stadium box office starting one hour before first pitch.
Masks Required
All fans inside Riley Park are required to wear a mask when not actively eating or drinking. Fans are also asked to socially distance inside the stadium.
ESPN+
The midweek contest against South Carolina will be broadcast on ESPN+.
vs. South Carolina
The Citadel and South Carolina are scheduled to meet three times this season. The teams will meet in Columbi on March 23 and April 27.
vs. the SEC
Wednesday's contest will be the first of four games against members of the Southeastern Conference. The Bulldogs and Gamecocks will meet two more times in Columbia. Mississippi State will pay a visit to the Lowcountry on May 5.

Head Coaches Tony Skole and Mark Kingston served as assistant coaches for Team USA during the summer of 2019.
Exactly One Year Ago
Wednesday's game will be exactly one year since the two teams last met. The Gamecocks defeated the Bulldogs, 10-1, on March 10, 2020 at Founders Park.

The score of 7-6 was very familiar to start the month of March. The Bulldogs opened the month with a 7-6 victory over Jacksonville, then split the first two games of the series against North Carolina A&T by the identical score.
Leadoff Jack
Second baseman Tyler Corbitt led off Saturday's game against NCAT with a home run to left field. It marked the first time a Bulldog hit a leadoff home run since Ryan McCarthy opened the series finale at South Florida with a homer to center field.
On Deck
The Bulldogs play their final non-conference weekend of the season as they welcome Davidson for a three-game series on March 12-14. The series opener has been moved to a 7 p.m. start, with Saturday's game set for 2 p.m. and Sunday's finale at 1 p.m.
