COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Citadel posted 15 top-10 finishes and logged three freshman records at Saturday's Gamecock Invitational hosted by South Carolina, with 11 performances coming on the men's side and four more coming from the women.

Men's Results

• JP Caglione tossed a personal-best mark of 185-1 in the hammer throw to finish fourth and improve his own second-best mark in program history.
• Evan McDonald continued his strong start to the spring with a throw of 166-4 in the javelin to finish second. Caleb McDonald also logged a seventh-place finish in the event after a heave of 143-5, and Fred Hamilton was eighth with a mark of 138-4.
• Sam Blumer, the reigning SoCon Field Athlete of the Week, took fifth in the pole vault with a personal-best leap of 15-11, the second-best mark in school history. Devin Merrick also hit 15-11 and placed seventh, while Lindsay Pierce hit 14-5.25 for the ninth-best mark ever at The Citadel.
• Prince Howard-Whitaker's throw of 154-2 was good for a sixth-place finish.
• In the 5,000m run, Sam Sharnas placed sixth with a time of 15:29.45.
• Bryce Baglia took eighth in the 800m with a run of 1:58.02.
• Alex Wulfhorst crossed the line in 4:11.47 to place eighth in the 1,500m run.
• Timiebi Ogobri logged a personal-best run of 10.84 in the 100m dash and also competing in the 4x100m relay alongside Treonte Newton, Mac Strunk and Kane Duncan, taking sixth place in 42.32.

 
Women's Results

• Heidi Fortin logged a personal-best and the third-best time in school history in the 5,000m run, finishing in 18:29.57 to place third.
• Milan Williams' throw of 176-0 with good for a fourth-place finish in the hammer throw.
• Casey Miller's run of 13:00.36 gave her a fourth-place finish in the 3,000m steeplechase.
• In the javelin throw, Shannon Ziccarello placed fifth with a throw of 118-3.
• Leah Murray's run of 12.29 in the 100m dash was the best time ever by a Bulldog freshman and the second-best time in school history. Murray also teamed with Mecca Jackson, Cyla Byrd and Jay Mitchell in the 4x100m relay, breaking the freshman record and logging the No. 4 spot all-time with a run of 48.56.
• Jackson's run of 59.52 was The Citadel's 10th-best time in the 400m dash.
• Gabby Shea broke the tape in 2:24.40 in the 800m run, her personal best and the seventh-best time in school history.
• The 4x400m relay team of Jackson, Mitchell, Murray and Shea posted a time of 4:07.47 to break the school's freshman record.
