HIGH POINT, N.C. – After earning eight top-10 finishes on the opening day of the meet yesterday, The Citadel closed out the High Point VertKlasse Meeting with three more strong performances on Friday afternoon.
All three of The Citadel's top-10s on Friday came in field events, with
Sam Blumer and
Prince Howard-Whitaker starring for the men and
Milan Williams, the reigning Southern Conference Field Athlete of the Week, notching another top-10 in the hammer throw.
Men's Results
- Sam Blumer competed in his signature pole vault event, reaching a height of 15-5.5 (4.71m) on his third attempt to place fifth overall.
- Prince Howard-Whitaker also brought home a top-10 finish in the discus throw, reaching a distance of 142-7 (43.46m) in a sixth-place effort.
Women's Results
- Milan Williams posted the lone top-10 of the afternoon on the women's side, placing sixth overall in the hammer throw with a toss of 169-3 (51.60m). Williams posted the top mark out of seven SoCon athletes that competed.
Up Next
The Citadel will be back in action next Saturday at the Gamecock Invitational hosted by South Carolina in Columbia. The Bulldogs are slated to have just one more meet following that before heading into the SoCon Outdoor Championships on the first weekend of May.
