Bulldogs Drop Midweek Matchup

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel dropped its home game Tuesday afternoon, 11-1, to the College of Charleston inside Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park.

How it Happened
  • The Cougars got on the board in the first inning after the first two hitters reached on base hits ahead of a two-out RBI single from Ari Sechopoulos.
  • CofC added to its lead in the second on a grand slam off the bat of Harrison Hawkins.
  • A pair of Bulldog errors in the third inning helped the Cougars push across three unearned runs.
  • The Bulldogs got on the board in the fourth inning after Ryan McCarthy started the inning with a hustle double and stole third. A wild pitch allowed McCarthy to score.
  • The Cougars added three more runs in sixth with the help of a two-run single from Donald Hansis.
  • The Citadel scored again in the ninth inning after John Lanier started the inning with a pinch-hit double. Wesley Lane drove in Lanier with a single to center field.

  • Three of the six hits went for extra bases as Ryan McCarthy, Travis Lott and John Lanier each doubled.
