Baseball Welcomes VMI to Riley Park

GAME NOTES

CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Citadel returns to the friendly confines of Riley Park to take on VMI April 30-May 1. First pitch for the series opener is set for 6 p.m., with Saturday's doubleheader set to start at 2 p.m.

Temperatures are expected to be in the upper 80s during the day on Friday and in the mid-70s for Saturday's doubleheader.


Ticket Information
Tickets for all home games are available on CitadelSports.com/tickets or by calling the box office at 843-953-DOGS. Tickets will also be available at the stadium box office starting one hour before first pitch.


Masks Required
All fans inside Riley Park are required to wear a mask when not actively eating or drinking. Fans are also asked to socially distance inside the stadium.


ESPN+
All three games against VMI will be broadcast on ESPN+.


vs. VMI
The Citadel and VMI have met 100 times prior on the diamond with the Bulldogs holding a 73-27 advantage in the series. The Citadel has won each of the past two series played in Charleston.


Last Series Against VMI
The Citadel bounced back from dropping the series opener to win a pair of one-run games back in 2019. The Citadel defeated VMI 1-0 in the middle game, then got a walk-off single in the 10th to win 3-2 and take the series.


Senior Recognition
The Bulldogs will honor their seniors prior to the first pitch on Saturday. The group that will be honored include players who are in their last year of eligibility or are graduating next weekend.


Simpson Against Carolina
Cole Simpson has shown off his power against South Carolina this season. The outfielder homered in two of the three meetings against the Gamecocks, including a two-run homer on April 27.


On Deck
The Bulldogs continue their home stand as they welcome Mississippi State to Riley Park on May 5. First pitch is set for 7 p.m.
