CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel women's soccer team will open the 2021 home schedule Sunday afternoon when it welcomes Anderson to WLI Field at 1 p.m. The match will be streamed live on ESPN+.
 
Fast Start
The Bulldogs have started the season 2-0 and are looking to improve to 3-0 for the first time since the 2018 season. The 3-0 start would equal the best start in program history. The Bulldogs also won their first three games in 2018, 2017 and 2016.
 
Generating Offense
The Citadel has generated plenty of offense in the first two matches as it has totaled 48 shots. The Bulldogs registered 28 shots against USC Upstate after posting 20 shots against Gardner-Webb. On the flip side, they have only allowed 17 shots through two matches.
 
Scoring Streak to Start Season
Suzuka Yosue has scored a goal in each of the first two games of the season. She is looking to become the first Bulldog since Kessy Bradshaw in 2018 to score a goal in each of the first three matches of the season.
 
Four Home Games in Eight Days
The Bulldogs are in the midst of a home stand that will see them play four games at WLI Field in eight days. After taking on Anderson on Sunday, The Citadel welcomes Georgia Southern (Aug. 31), Presbyterian (Sept. 3) and Stetson (Sept. 5). The Bulldogs will not play another match at home until Oct. 1.
 
Scouting Anderson
The match with Anderson will mark the first between the two programs. The Trojans are picked to finish ninth in the South Atlantic Conference coaches poll.
