Volleyball Announces 2021 Schedule

CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Citadel volleyball team announced its complete 2021 schedule on Tuesday. The 27-match schedule features three tournaments to begin the season, before getting into Southern Conference action in late September.
 
The Bulldogs open the season on Aug. 27-28 at the Auburn War Eagle Invitational. The Citadel takes on Tennessee Tech and Auburn on the opening day, before wrapping up the tournament Saturday morning against Jackson State.
 
The Citadel will spend the next three weeks in the Lowcountry. The month opens at the VolleyBuc Invitational on Sept. 3-4. The Bulldogs will take on Jacksonville State on Friday and Wyoming on Saturday.
 
The Bulldogs home opener will be Sept. 7 when Idaho State comes to McAlister Field House for a 6 p.m. match.
 
The Citadel returns to North Charleston on Sept. 10-11 for the Buccaneer Invitational. The Bulldogs take on Northern Illinois on Friday night, before taking on Bethune-Cookman and Charleston Southern on Saturday.
 
The Bulldogs welcome South Carolina State and Presbyterian to McAlister Field House for a three-team tournament on Sept. 16-17. The Citadel takes on SCSU on Thursday and PC on Friday. Both matches are set for 6 p.m.
 
The Citadel begins conference play on the road as it travels to Mercer (Sept. 24) and Samford (Sept. 25).
 
SoCon home action gets underway on Sept. 29 against Wofford. That begins a four-match home stand that continues with Chattanooga (Oct. 2), ETSU (Oct. 3) and Furman (Oct. 6).
 
The remaining home conference matches include Samford (Oct. 22), Mercer (Oct. 23), Western Carolina (Nov. 12) and UNCG (Nov. 13). 
 
Other conference road matches include UNCG (Oct. 15), Western Carolina (Oct. 16), Wofford (Oct. 27), Chattanooga (Oct. 29), ETSU (Oct. 30) and Furman (Nov. 3). 
 
The SoCon Tournament will be played Nov. 19-21 in Birmingham, Alabama.
