COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Citadel men's tennis team will start their 2022 spring season with two matches on Friday in Columbia. The Bulldogs will take on Presbyterian at 11:30 a.m. and South Carolina at 2:30 p.m. The opening weekend will conclude on Sunday with a pair of matches at Georgia Tech.
The matches will be played inside the Carolina Tennis Center. Spectators will be required to wear masks when inside the facility.
The Citadel finished the 2020-21 season with a record of 5-19.
Josiah Schainblatt is the top returner after posting six victories a season ago. The doubles duo of Schainblatt and
Zvonko Bencedic posted three wins last season.
Presbyterian, the 2021 Big South Champions, opened their 2022 season on Jan. 15 with a 5-2 victory over Kennesaw State.
The Gamecocks will open their 2022 season against PC on Friday at 8:30 a.m.
The Yellow Jackets opened the spring season with the MLK Invitational on Jan. 15-17. Keshav Chopra is the reigning ACC Player of the Week after going undefeated in the event.GT will face Georgia State on Friday before taking on the Bulldogs.
