CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel women's soccer cut its 2-0 halftime deficit to 2-1 early in the second half versus Western Carolina Tuesday, only for the Catamounts to unleash with four unanswered scores in a 6-1 decision.

How it Happened
- 20' – Isabella DeMarco launched one from left-center outside the box to the upper left corner.
- 35' – Kennedy Capps put WCU up 2-0 to go into halftime thanks to Shannon Greenwood and Kirsten Hahn getting her ball at the top of the box and painting it to the top right corner.
- 57' – A determined Bulldogs team cut their deficit in the half when Kristi Jones left-footed the ball from the right side in the bottom left corner, set up by Suzuka Yosue's pass to Grace Duncan near the left end line and Duncan centering the ball to the wide-open Jones.
- 60' – WCU regained control when Abbie Lainhart got a jump on a pass from Isabella DeMarco inside the box and fired point blank to the goal.
- 67' – Milla Syska passed it to a wide-open DeMarco just over midfield, which she carried all the way to a score.
- 85' – DeMarco completed the hat trick when she battled through the box from the right side and skimmed the ball to the bottom right.
- 86' – Just moments later Milla Syska approached from the left side inside the box, sailing the ball just past the outstretched hands of Brie Sikes.

- Suzuka Yosue, who earned her second SoCon Offensive Player of the Week of the season earlier today, added to her school-record career assists total with 33. Her nine assists this season leads the SoCon, while her 17 points is tied for second and four goals seventh. She ranks second all-time with 75 career points, putting her four points away from Mariana Garcia's all-time mark.
- Western Carolina led 13-5 in shots on goal and 20-10 overall.
- Brie Sikes posted seven saves in 90 minutes, now standing at 4-3 on the season.
- Tuesday's game was a makeup date, as the two teams' originally-scheduled date of Sept. 29 was called off due to Hurricane Ian.
- The Citadel has not beaten Western Carolina since 2010, faring 0-11-1 in that time.
