CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel football team sent its seniors out in style with a convincing 66-0 victory over Virginia University of Lynchburg Saturday afternoon inside Johnson Hagood Stadium.

How it Happened
- The Bulldogs scored on their opening possession as Peyton Derrick capped a six-play drive with a one-yard touchdown run.
- The Citadel doubled its lead just two minutes later as Chris Beverly intercepted a pass and returned it 48 yards for the touchdown.
- Colby Kintner closed out the first-quarter scoring with a 47-yard field goal.
- Cooper Wallace scored the only touchdown of the second quarter as he used a stiff arm to get to the outside and stayed in bounds for the 36-yard touchdown run.
- Braden Walker found the end zone twice during the third quarter, scoring from 11 yards out on the opening possession of the half, and following it up with a five-yard run.
- JJ Hudson scored his first career touchdown with a 14-yard reception late in the third quarter.
- The Bulldogs got creative in the fourth quarter as Ha'Keem Monroe took the pitch on the reverse and went 47 yards for the touchdown.
- Hudson scored his second TD of the game on the next drive, outrunning the defense for a 75-yard touchdown.
- Johnny Crawford III closed out the scoring with a one-yard run with 3:09 to play.

- The Citadel posted its first shutout since defeating Davidson 69-0 on Sept. 5, 2015.
- The defense held the Dragons to 108 total yards, including just 28 yards rushing.
- The 66 points scored were also the most since the game against Davidson in 2015.
- The Bulldog offense had 531 total yards, including 452 rushing yards.
- The 452 rushing yards are the most since running for 463 yards against Samford on Nov. 5, 2016.
- The Citadel had four players rush for at least 74 yards.
- JJ Hudson led the way with 89 yards and a touchdown on just four carries. He also had one catch for 14 yards and a score.
- Cooper Wallace finished with 74 yards on five carries, including a 36-yar touchdown.
- Johnny Crawford III carried a team-high 14 times for 74 yards and a touchdown. It was his second-straight game with a rushing touchdown.
- Braden Walker ran for 72 yards and a pair of scores on 13 carries.
- Ha'Keem Monroe had just one carry, but it went for 47 yards and a touchdown.
- Ricky Conway carried three times for 22 yards, and added on catch for 34 yards.
- Graeson Underwood played the second half and went 3-for-4 for 79 yards and a touchdown. He also carried five times for 20 yards playing both quarterback and B-Back.
- Chris Beverly returned an interception for a touchdown in the first quarter. It was his first touchdown of his career.
- It also marked the second-straight game Beverly intercepted a pass and returned it 48 yards.
- The Bulldogs also got interceptions from Kyler Estes, Rett Russell and Avery Dixon. The interceptions were the first in the Bulldog career for all three players.
- The defense totaled 6.0 sacks and 15.0 tackles-for-loss.
- Russell led the way with 2.5 sacks.
- Dominick Poole forced a pair of fumbles, recovering one of them.
