CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel rifle team dropped a tight match, 4714-4624, to the United States Naval Academy Sunday inside the Inouye Marksmanship Center.
The score of 4624 marked the second time the Bulldogs had that total this season, and just one point off their season high. The Citadel shot a 2303 in smallbore and 2321 in air rifle.
Charlotte Welsh led the Bulldogs with an aggregate total of 1164 to finish fifth.
James Hart was just behind Welsh in sixth place with an aggregate score of 1163.
Smallbore Results
- The Bulldogs shot a score of 2303.
- Charlotte Welsh was the top shooter for the Bulldogs, finishing fourth with a score of 578.
- James Hart finished in fifth place, also with a total of 578.
- Aiden Malcolm shot a 576 to finish seventh.
Air Rifle Results
- The Bulldogs shot a score of 2321.
- Welsh paced the Bulldogs with a score of 586 to finish fifth.
- Hart was seventh with a score of 585.
- Cameron Bates finished 10th with a score of 576.
